State of the State Tea Party

I have been meaning to post these for a while now, but I keep forgetting! I attended the "State of the State" address in Lansing Feb. 3rd, but I was not inside clapping like a mindless idiot at the things our Twit of a Governor continue to lie to us about. I was outside freezing my (insert expletive here) off listening to what the people of this state have to say.

In case you've been told otherwise, I would like to clear up the fact that the modern day "Tea Party" started in 2007 during the presidential race in support of then candidate Ron Paul. I feel the need to point this out because the "tea party" movement was all about the true conservative principals of liberty, free markets, and a non-interventionist foreign policy. Since the Neo-conservatives (including Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin who was PAID to speak at a rally) have essentially hijacked the movement, it's no longer the grassroots movement it once was. Nevertheless, I'm always happy to see people getting off of thier asses and doing something about our bloated government.

I know I should not talk about politics on my business blog, but this is more about the photos. If you want to debate politics with me, or get more involved, feel free to email me or add my personal facebook page.

I'm posting this in case there was not enough news coverage on what was going on outside the capitol building.

Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich and the Republican Establishment can't take over the Tea Party Movement unless the Tea Party people follow them. They are trying the same tactic they used in 1994 to quell the revolt in the Republican Party. Newt Gingrich provided the false leadership and sold angry Republicans on "term limits" and his silly "Contract with America". Are we stupid enough to fall for this again?

Sarah Palin is the new Newt Gingrich. She is an establishment Republican. She is campaigning for John McCain, and she endorsed Rick Perry, rather than the Tea Party candidate, Debra Medina. I have seen a picture of Palin with Henry Kissinger, and that's enough to tell you that she's no good!

My point is, let the GOP have their Tea Parties. We don't have to follow them. We can continue to work to abolish the Federal Reserve and return to honest money. We can work to end the undeclared wars, the phony "War on Terrorism, the torture, and the meddling in foreign affairs that created the terrorist threat.

We can work to get the US out of the United Nations. We can work to end efforts to disarm the American people, to end the Patriot Act and the Department of Homeland Terrorism, and all the unconstitutional agencies in government. We don't have to follow the false leadership of the GOP.

The GOP sure would like to absorb the Tea Party movement, but it's not going to happen. They're pretty desperate about it, though. Within the past few weeks or so Palin was saying that the Tea Party should merge with the GOP. Now Palin is saying that the Tea Party needs to pick a party. Palin might be very surprised one day if her request comes true and the Tea Party does actually pick a party which is neither the Republican Party or the Democratic Party. The thing is, we know that the two parties currently in power are the ones who got us into the mess that we're now in. What are we to do, continue supporting them while expecting something other than the same old same old? What we really need is a party with members who will actually honor the oaths that they take to uphold and defend the Constitution.
